I cannot express in words just how heavy my heart is after the events of last Friday. My heartfelt prayers go out to the Newtown, Connecticut community-- especially to the parents --who are left with gaping holes in their hearts. It is my hope that each parent, sibling, classmate, teacher, friend, and neighbor will be able to find some peace in the tender mercies felt at this time of mourning, and I hope that they may find some comfort in knowing that those babies are being held in loving arms in Heaven.
I'm grateful for the season of remembering Christ. It is a time to reassess our lives and examine our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Let this be a time of remembrance, of gratitude, and a time of forgiveness. Let's make this world a better place, not allowing our anger to define our actions, rather let us be defined by our genuine love for each other. Let us change the future and bring peace back into this hurting world.
